Morrab Gardens and the surrounding area is full of wild and cultivated plants that can be used to make 100% sustainable and plastic-free bowls. Discover how to transform grasses, 'weeds' and garden waste into a beautiful and functional bowl of mat.

Who is this event for? Anyone interested in plants, crafts and using natural and 'waste' materials to create objects and vessels with. Suitable for beginners and those with previous craft experience.

What to expect on this forage and make cordage course:

  • A foraging walk to learn about materials and gather a small amount (the rest will be provided or you can bring your own)
  • Learn about different plants and how to process them to craft with
  • Discover and practice the technique of coil stitching
  • See different examples of vessels and mats you could make and design your own
  • Make a bowl in a day!
