What to expect on a dandelion digging event

On this Dandelion Digging event we'll gather together around a fire and drink spiced dandelion caffeine-free 'coffee' before setting off with spades to honour the earth and the humble dandelion with all its nourishing goodness. Dandelion roots are at their best in winter, and as our hands touch the mood-enhancing soil we can start to get to know their amazing health giving qualities.

  • Enjoy time outdoors with others
  • A day in nature, with fire, shelter and the raw elements of soil and food
  • A welcome drink of spiced dandelion 'coffee' (caffeine-free roasted dandelion roots)
  • Discover the health benefits of dandelion roots from promoting good gut bacteria to helping to detox the body
  • Time together digging up dandelion roots in a respectful and nature-friendly way
  • Hot winter soup topped with fried dandelion leaves
  • Learn about the process of making dandelion 'coffee'
  • Go away with your own roots to process and enjoy in drinks and food
  • Opportunity to buy copies of Rachel's foraging books.

Who is this event for? Anyone* wanting to share time in nature with others, learn about wild food and do a physical activity together. This day will be both active and reflective and involves time outside to help build resilience and good feelings in the winter months.

*Each course I have 2 'pay what you can places'. If the price inhibits you from attending and means you won't be able to pay for life's essentials, please get in touch. Honesty expected, no questions asked.
